  • 08-28-2011: The standings sheets and score sheets are all caught up. I hope you did well.

The season ending scramble and party is this Thursday. It looks like fine weather. The scramble will be held on the FRONT NINE! Aren't you glad I didn't say "back nine"?

Please be considerate of all the golfers behind you because we will be racing sunset for the last groups. Your fellow golfers will appreciate it if you play efficiently and move on.

If you have gas lanterns or other light sources, please bring them along. We will most certainly be in the dark at the end.

  • 08-10-2011: It's official, September 1st is our new last round scramble. Scores and standings are up to date.

  • 08-02-2011: Due to last week's swamp out, the end-of-season week is unclear. I'll update the schedule and confirm in this blog when I find out whether we end in August or play into September.

This week is the delayed post-round social.

  • 07-10-2011: The website conversion appears to be complete. Let me know if you see any strangeness.

Week nine is in the books, This season seems to be flying by.

  • 07-07-2011: On Thursday, June 23rd, John Boyer aced the 14th hole. That makes two aces in the league for the season. On consecutive weeks.

The website is going through some changes. It is now on a new server, and this switch has brought about some bugs to work out. You should find that the the 2011 pages are functional. I'll be working on the rest as time permits.

  • 06-28-2011: Thursday, June 30th is our second post-round grill out. Looks like a good night for a round of golf followed by food and beverage.

Scores and standings are up to date.

  • 06-22-2011: On June 16th during league play, Mike Nelson hit a perfect shot into the hole on #2. The pin was near the front, and he hit a cut shot that hit the green on the mound, and the ball rolled to the back and right and disappeared into the cup. Nice!

  • 06-14-2011: Standings through Week 5 are now on the site. Much gratitude to Brian for his hard work setting this up and getting the results out in a timely fashion. It is your webmaster that is slow in posting the product of his hard work. I'll do better from now on.

  • 05-31-2011: Week 4 is coming up. Last week's rain-out cancelled the anticpated BBQ and golf round. The season schedule has been updated.

  • 05-10-2011: Week 1 is in the books. As usual, it will take a few rounds for the scores to be ready as the Scoremaster organizes the flights.

If you are new to the League, try to get three scores to the Scoremeister (brianinaa@aol.com) so that he can properly calculate your handicap for flighting purposes.

Remember, for every par-3 hole, you should mark the number of putts on the green. This helps the Scoremaster correctly determine all your golf ball awards. Highlighting your scorecard with circles or any other non-putt count indicator will not be recognized.

Lastly, Pierce Lake has created a form for League members to sign up for the Players Club. Stop by the pro-shop and complete the short form and become eligible for discounted golf, food, and merchandise.

  • 04-28-2011: Rain-out declared. The first scoring night has been delayed one week. The schedule has been updated accordingly.

  • 04-18-2011: Welcome to the 2011 Golf season! Posting the most recent note from Bill...

    Hello Golfers,

We are creeping toward 60 degrees however today that is combined with a wind chill of 30. No matter, the wind is always good for an excuse.

We unofficially kick off the season this coming Thursday, April 21, with our pre-season "practice night". This is an unofficial, totally optional and extra-cost affair, so if you plan on playing you will need to make up an excuse to leave work early and pay the starter $16 for 9-holes. Also, because we don't have any times reserved, it would be wise to call Pierce Lake (734) 475-5858 and secure a tee time if you plan on playing. It's a great chance to get out and get in some whacks and/or pocket a make-up score before the official hacking - I mean golfing season - begins in earnest.

The official start for the greatest golf league in the world is the following Thursday, April 28th, on the first tee. New members look for the white board for any important announcements and also touch base with the pro-shop regarding their discount offer to League players this year.
